Simeis 147

Hello,

Simeis 147 is a supernova remanent I wanted to image since a few years. But this beautiful nebula is is a very large object, more than 6x the full moon. So I had to wait for the right telescope. I found the Takahashi FS60 and so I can show you Simeis 147 (or SH2-240) today.

Imaged in with the Moravian G2-8300 at my Takahashi FS 60 @ f=264mm with the original reducer. L:R:G:B:HA:OIII=120:60:60:60:710:480 minutes. Subexposures were 5 minutes for all LRGB, 10 minutes for HA and 30 minutes for OIII. Total exposure time was 25 hours.

Enjoy Simeis 147

California Dreamin

Hello,

in November 1965 “The Mamas and the Papas” published their famous song “California Dreamin”. Exactly 50 years later I had the chance to image the California Nebula and publish my image of the California Nebula in memory of “California Dreamin” and “The Mamas and the Papas”.

Imaged in with the Moravian G2-8300 at my Takahashi FS 60 @ f=264mm with the original reducer. L:R:G:B:HA:OIII=160:120:120:120:450:240 minutes. Subexposures were 10 minutes for all frames. Total exposure time was 20 hours.

Enjoy California

Elephant’s Trunk nebula IC 1396

Hello,

IC 1396 is always a very nice object to image. Here is my new version with a lot of field around the trunk.

Imaged in with the Moravian G2-8300 at my Takahashi FS 60 @ f=264mm with the original reducer. L:R:G:B:HA=160:60:60:60:170 minutes. Subexposures were 10 minutes for HA and L and 2 minutes for RGB. Total exposure time was 8.5 hours.
