201846P/Wirtanen
Hello,
comets are not my world, but everybody talks about Wirtanen. So I could not resist.
Imaged with the ASI094MC-Pro @ my Celestron RASA 11. 172 x 1 minute, so total exposure time was only about 3 hours.
Processing with PixInsight and Photoshop CS6.
There is an object in the background I do not know. Can you tell me what it is? I marked it in the second image with a green circle.
In the red circle you see the planetary nebula PN Ba 1
Enjoy

Hello Reinhold,
we have seen at CEDIC’19 in March 😉
According to wikisky.org, the questionable thing is designated as “USNO-A2 1050-01066673”, whilst http://cdsportal.u-strasbg.fr finds no target there; even Aladin shows this object as unknown to Simbad. SDSS does not cover this area of the sky (yet?).
Obviously it is not a star, but a galaxy of apparently half the size of PGC14042 (south of PN Ba1, southwest of this unknown object)…
Congratulations for finding this galaxy !
How to go on now ? I will ask some friends within the next days, and come back to you then…
Kind regards
Martin

Thanks Martin. I am waiting what will go on. I have no experience with new objects.
